The Secretary of State came in and laid on the table a written Message from the Governor communicating the resignation and discharge of Major General Joel Wellington of the second Division of the Militia of this State . On motion by Mr. Balkam the Senate assigned this afternoon at 4 o clock for the purpose of coming to the choice of a Maj. General for the Second Division.
