(51) [Mr. Usher introduced as Senator by Sec. of State] and announced that Abijah Usher Jr. had been elected by a Convention of Members of the House of Representatives and of Members of the Senate elect, a Member of the Senate for the District of York, and that he had taken and subscribed the oaths of Office before the Acting Governor and Council; and he then announced the said Abijah Usher Jr to the Senate.
[Motion relative to vacant seat] Mr. Kingsbury moved an Order, that the Secretary of the Senate be directed to furnish ballots corresponding with those numbers on the vacant seats, and that the Member of this Board from the District of York, draw one of six ballots which shall designate the seat to be taken by him.
