285 Wednesday March 28, 1831 Met according to adjournment

Ordered that the following questions be submitted to the Justices of the Supreme Judicial Court for their opinion and answer 1st - Can persons under the care & direction of Overseers of the Poor of any town who have been disposed of for one year for the labor of such person constitutionally vote for State Officers during that time 2nd - Can ballots with the names of persons not having the qualifications of a Representatives be counted agreeable to the 5th Section 4th Article part 1st of the Constitution as votes - so as to prevent a majority of votes given for persons eligible making a choice

The House reconsider their vote passing to be engrossed - Resolve exempting the Custom House and Warehouse belonging to the United States in Portland from taxation & indefinitely postpone the same - sent up for concurrence. Bill - additional regulating the duties of Inspectors of Beef, lumber & other articles was read a 3rd time & passed to be Engrossed - sent up for concurrence.

Bill to incorporate the Proprietors of Middle Bridge at Calais was read a 3rd time & passed to be Engrossed as amended on sheet annexed marked A - sent up for concurrence

Bill to incorporate the Portsmouth Company was read a 3rd time & passed to be engrossed as amended on sheet
