301 Mr Emery of Biddeford has leave of absence after this day during the remainder of the session. The Committee on Engrossed Bills report as duly engrossed - Bill additional to regulate the Inspection of Beef & Pork

The same Committee also report as dule engrossed - Resolve in favor of Anthony Merchant - in favor of Thomas Dana which were severally finally passed. - Sent up for concurrence. Ordered that the Committee on Claims to was referred the Petition of Edward Russell and also an order of the House of Representatives instructing said COmmittee to examine the Records in the department of the Secretary of State - be instructed to report a statement of facts relating to said Petition and the character of said records. - Sent up for concurrence. Resolve in favor of the road leading through the Notch of the White Hills was read a 2nd time - the amendments of the Senate adopted and the Resolve passed to be engrossed as further amended on sheet annexed marked C and the question upon so passing this resolve was taken by yeas & nays as follows yeas 55 Nays 41 - sent up for concurrence. (for yeas & nays see page 489) Resolve making further provision for completing the Baring & Houlton road was read a 2nd time and passed to be engrossed as taken into a new draft - sent up for concurrence.
