Resolve respecting the State Prison, was read once & tomorrow at 1/2 past two o clock assigned for a second reading

Resolve respecting the Passamaquoddy Bank, laid on the table by Mr Jewett of Bowdoinham, was referred to the committee on the Judiciary. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill – to apportion and asses on the inhabitants of this State a tax of Fifty thousand dollars, was read a 3d time & passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence:

Bill – an additional act respecting Highways, was read a 1st & 2nd time & tomorrow at 10 o clock assigned for a 2nd reading, and 300 copies ordered to be printed for the use of the members, last vote reconsidered & the Bill referred to a committee of this House

Petition of David Agry & Joseph Treat, committee on behalf of the Penobscot Boom Corporation, praying that enlarged powers be granted said corporation, was read & referred to Messrs Bent of Bangor, Carpenter of Howland & Calderwood of Vinalhaven

Bill – revoking the Charter of the Passamaquoddy Bank was read a 3d time & passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.

Resolve imposing a tax on the several counties within this State, was read once & tomorrow at 10 o clock assigned for a second reading

The Committee on engrossed Bills reported as duly engrossed

Bill – An additional act respecting Banks

-additional to an act entitled an act to incorporate the President Directors & Company of the Augusta Bank

-ceding to the United States the jurisdiction of certain lands near the mouth of Piscataquis River

-incorporating the mutual Fire Insurance Company

which were severally passed to be enacted. Sent up for concurrence.
