Monday January 19th 1829

Met according to adjournment

On motion of Mr. Dole of Alna Ordered that the Secretary of State be requested to lay before the House the returns of the Trustees of the several incorporated Literary Institutions in this State, made in pursuance of a Resolve passed February 25th 1828. read & passed.

On motion of Mr. Bryant of Fairfield, Ordered, that the committee on the Judiciary be instructed to inquire into the expediency of passing an additional act, respecting the collection of taxes - read & passed. Sent up for concurrence.

Petitions of H.W. Fuller for compensation for extra services as Judge of Probate & of Levi H. Pratt & als that Judges of Probate may have the same power as the S.J. Court to authorize sale of real estate of minors, of Philo Clark & als for an amendment of the Parish law were severally read & referred to the committee on the Judiciary - Sent up for concurrence.

Communications were received from Jonathan G. Huntoon & Reuel Washburn, Counsellors elect, signifying their acceptance. read & sent up,

Message was received from the Senate by Mr. Hutchinson their Secretary, proposing a convention forthwith in the Representatives Chamber for the purpose of qualifying Jonathan G. Huntoon and Reuel Washburn.
