48 Friday January 13, 1832 Met according to adjournment A Communication was received from the Clerk of the Courts in Somerset County, in Compliance with an order of the 9th instant which was read and on motion of Mr. Phelps the same was referred to a Select Committee of this House consisting of Mr. Phelps, Bradford and Boyd Agreeably to assignment the House took up the consideration of the Order introduced yesterday by Mr. Phelps - which was laid on the table - and the same was read and passed. Joseph Colley of Falmouth appeared presented his credentials, was qualified and took his seat. The report of the Committee on contested elections made on the case of John Chandler and John Pitts each claiming a seat in this House from the District of Belgrade and Dearborn, was taken up and so far accepted to bring before the House the following Resolve. Resolved that John Chandler was duly elected a Representative from the District composed of Belgrade and Dearborn on the first Monday in October last and is entitled to a seat in this House - which was read and passed.
