New Sharon July 16th Gov. T Washburn (?) Pardon me for addressing you concerning a matter which I have troubled your exellency too much about already. I am desirous of consistent with your arrangements to Serve in the 16th Reg. You will confer a great favor on me if this transfer can possibly be effected. It is quite impossible for me to arrange my affairs at home to leave so soon as contemplated at my last interview with you without making great sacrifices. Yet I am ready to serve you and my country in whatever situation it may seem necessary. Very Respectfully Your Humble Servant J.F. Pratt
