Report on the petition of Andrew McMillan & als granting leave to withdraw, was read & accepted in concurrence with the Senate.

Petition of Daniel Crooker praying for new enlisting orders for a company of Calvary in 1st Brig. 6th Div of the militia of this to be issued, was read & referred to the committee on the militia. Sent up for concurrence.

A communication was received from the Secretary of State transmitting the Pay Roll of the Council for the last political year, which, with the accompanying document, was read & referred to Messrs. Kidder of Bloomfield, Cummings of Paris & Clark of Hallowell .

Bill additional act respecting Sheriffs, was read a third time, amended, and passed to be engrossed - This question was taken by yeas & nays & decided as follows yeas 90 Nays 23 [see appendix page 327.] Sent up for concurrence.
