210 Bill additional to an act concerning the assessment and collection of Taxes, laid on the table by Mr. Wentworth of Greenwood, was read once & referred to Messrs. White of Monmouth, Selden of Norridegwock & Vincent of Orland.

Resolve in favor of Joshua Carpenter, came down recommitted to the committee on Claims for concurrence - and the House concurred.

The committee on engrossed Bills reported as duly engrossed Resolve - authorizing the Penobscot Tribe of Indians to sell Smiths Island - - relating to fortifications of the Penobscot River & Bay - which were severally finally passed. Sent up for concurrence.

Resolve granting a half township of land to Buxton & Hollis was read a second time & indefinitely postponed - The question was taken by yeas & nays & decided as follows - yeas 75 nays 43. [see appendix page 334]. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill to incorporate the Winthrop Agricultural Society, was read a third time & passed to be engrossed as amended. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill to annex a part of the town of Canton to the town of Jay was read a second time & tomorrow at 10 o'clock assigned for a 3d reading.

Bill additional to an act to establish a Court of Common Pleas was read a third time & passed to be engrossed as amended. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill - incorporating the Master, Wardens & members of Fraternal Lodge, was read a third time & passed to be engrossed as amended. Sent up for concurrence.
