The same committee reported as duly engrossed Resolve directing an action the Trustees of the Mariners Church - - fixing the compensation of the Commissioner of a Public Buildings - - in addition to the Resolve for the assistance of the Deaf & Dumb passed in fifth day of February last - which were severally finally passed. Sent up for concurrence.

Resolve in favor of Erastus Foote, was taken up - Mr Ruggles of Thomaston moved an indefinite postponement of the same - the question was taken by yeas & nays & decided in the negative as follows yeas 37 nays 72 [See appendix page 338.] - before any other question was taken upon the Resolve the House Adjourned until two o clock this afternoon.

Resolve in favor of Erastus Foote, was read a second time & passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate

Bill - to prevent the destruction of Pickerel in Modomoc Long Pond, was read 1st & 2d time and 4 o clock this afternoon assigned for a 3d reading

Bill - additional act to exempt certain goods & chattels from attachment, execution & distress, came from the Senate that body adhering to their vote postponing the same indefinitely - The House insist upon their vote passing the same, propose a conference & appoint as Conferees on their part Messrs Emerson of Harrison, Ludden of Canton & Merrill of Sidney.

Report of the committee on the order instructing them to consider the expediency of affording aid to the town of Greenwood and such other towns & plantations as are oppressed by excessive taxes, that the same be referred to the next Legislature, was read & accepted. Sent up for concurrence.
