Met according to adjournment.

Messrs Kimball of Rumford & Smith of Newshaven have leave of absence after today during the remainder of the session.

Bill an additional act respecting Clerks of the Judicial Courts was read a third time & passed to be engrossed with amendments. Sent up for concurrence.

The Committee on engrossed Bills reported as duly engrossed Bill in further addition to an Act to organize, govern & discipline the Militia of this State. - to apportion & assess on the inhabitants of this State a tax of Fifty thousand dollars - additional to the several acts new in force, securing to owners their property in logs, masts & others timber - - repealing part of an additional Act respecting Highways - - providing for the survey & admeasurement of logs - - to prevent the destruction of Pickerel in Modomee Long Pond - - additional act respecting the appointment of Clerks of the Judicial Courts were severally passed to be enacted. Sent up for concurrence

Agreeably to assignment the House proceeded by ballot to the choice of two persons as members of the Committee to examine into the affairs of the State Prison ect as provided in a Resolve passed the present session of the Legislature - The whole number of ballots given was One Hundred & ten - necessary to constitute an election fifty six, - George Scamman had seventy six & Joshua Richardson had seventy & they were declared elected.

Report on the petition of Andrew Dennison & others, referring the same to the next Legislature, was read & accepted. Sent up for concurrence.
