16 Saturday January 8th 1831 Met according to adjournment Mr. Harris of Portland from the joint committee appointed to wait on the Governor & notify him of his election &c made a report that they had performed the duty assigned them and that the Governor elect was pleased to say that he would meet the two Houses in Convention in the Representatives Chamber at at ten o'clock this day & take and subscribe the oaths required by the Constitution to qualify him to enter upon the discharge of his official duties.
On motion of Mr. Barnard of Alna, Ordered that the Clerk be directed to cause Two Hundred & Fifty copies of the Rules & Orders adopted the present session with a list annexed of the Standing Committees of the Legislature & the Civil Government for the current year to be printed for the use of the members.
On motion of Mr. Parks of Bangor Ordered that the Clerk of the House be directed to procure the printing of the House until otherwise ordered.
On motion of Mr. Shapleigh of Berwick Ordered that the Senate be requested to take from their files the papers relating to the State printing & send the same to the House.
Ordered that a message be sent to the Senate proposing a Convention of both Branches in the Representatives Chamber at ten o'clock this day for the purpose of qualifying the Governor elect & the Senate by their Secretary informed the House of their concurrence.
