On motion of Mr Bridgham, ordered, that a message be sent to the House of Representatives, proposing a Convention of both Houses of the Legislature, in the Representatives Chamber, forthwith, for the purpose of administering the necessary oaths to Amos Allen, Esquire, Counsellor, elect; which message was delivered by the Secretary. A message was received from the the House concurring in the foregoing proposition.

Mr Porter, Senator elect from the District of York, appeared, was conducted to the Governour and Council and qualified, and took his seat at the Board.

In Convention. Agreeably to assignment, the two Branches of the Legislature met in Convention for the purpose of administering the oaths of office to Amos Allen, Espuire, Counsellor elect, who came in, and before the President of the Convention and in presence of both Houses of the Legislature took and subscribed the oaths prescribed by the Constitution to qualify him to enter upon the discharge of his official duties. The convention then separated.
