Remonstrance of certain inhabitants of the Town of Leeds against Piers and Booms on the Kennebec River, below the town of Hallowell, was read and referred to the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals - sent up for concurrence. Bill to alter the time of holding a meeting of the County Commissioners in Penobscot county, laid upon the table by Mr. Kent was read a first and second time and tomorrow at ten o'clock assigned for a third reading. Petition of W. R. Cummings and 24 others that a law may be passed authorizing the Governor and Council to appoint a Surveyor General in the county of Penobscot was read and referred to the Joint Select Committee who have that subject under consideration - sent up for concurrence. Resolve in Favor of Machias Port was taken up and upon motion recommitted to the Committee on Finance. Resolve in favor of the town of Lincoln came from the Senate recommitted to the Committee on State Roads for concurrence and the House reconsider the vote whereby they passed the same t be engrossed and recommit the same in concurrence with the Senate.
