Order from the House of Representatives, instructing the committee on the Judiciary to enquire into the expediency of providing by law, that from and after the day next preceding the second Monday of September, 1832, the officers of Register of Deeds and county Treasurer shall not be held by the same person at the same time, read and passed in concurrence.

Mr Sweat, from the committee on State Lands, reported leave to withdraw on the petitions of Joseph Treat, Josiah Fowle, and Nathaniel Treat and others, severally read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence.

Bill to set off a part of the town of Harrington and annex the same to the town of Addison, reported by the committee on the Division of towns, Bill authorizing towns to tax the owners of dogs, reported by the committee on agriculture, Resolve for procuring a site for a Gun House in Freeport, reported by the committee on the Militia, were severally read once and tomorrow at ten o'clock assigned for a second reading.
