[Report on the pet. of Directors of Cumb. Ins. Company.] Mr. Kingsbury from the joint standing committee on Banks and Banking reported leave to bring in a Bill on the petition of the directors of the Cumberland Insurance Company, read and accepted.
[Bill - Cumberland Insurance Company] An additional act to incorporate the Cumberland Insurance Company, was read twice and passed to be engrossed, Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.
[Bill concerning Pickled & smoked fish] An act additional to an act to provide for the packing of pickled and smoked fish, as taken into a new draft, was read a second time and passed to be engrossed as amended. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.
[Bills assigned for a second reading] An Act to incorporate the Proprietors of the Portland Theater, reported by the Committee on Literary Institutions, and An act to regulate the Alewive fishery in the town of Franklin, reported by the committee on Interior Fisheries, were severally read once, and Monday next at eleven o'clock assigned for a second reading.
[Report on so much of the Gov.'s message as relates to public buildings] Mr. Sweat from the Joint Select Committee to whom was referred so much of the Governor's message as relates to the public buildings, made a report, which was laid on the table and ordered that 300 copies of said report with accompanying estimates and Resolve, be printed for the use of the Legislature.
[Report on petition of Samuel Homans] Mr. Hutchings from the committee on Interior Fisheries, reported reference to the next Legislature on the petition of Samuel Homans, which was laid on the table on motion of Mr. Davee.
