232 passed to be engrossed. Sent down for concurrence. Order from the House instructing the committee on State roads to inquire into the expediency of extending the same protection to the Military road, leading from Lincoln to Hancock Barracks, reported by said committee, as the Bill reported by said committee gives to the Mattanawcook road, read and passed in concurrence. Resolve in favour of David Trask was read and indefinitely postponed. Sent down for concurrence. Bill for preserving the North Turner Bridge was read a second time and passed to be engrossed, in concurrence. Bill to incorporate the City of Portland came up. The House having refused to adopt the second amendment proposed by the Senate. The Senate recede from their vote passing said Bill to be engrossed; and also recede from their vote adopting said second amendment, and pass said Bill to be engrossed in concurrence. A message was received from the House informing the Senate that the House had reconsidered their vote passing to be engrossed Resolve providing for the erection of a Monument over the remains of Enoch Lincoln and referred the same to the next Legislature; and requesting the concurrence of the Senate. Whereupon the Senate nonconcur the House in said reference and finally passed said Resolve of which the House were informed by message.
