240 Mr. Hunton, from the committee on Literary Institutions reported on the petitions of Gardiner Lyceum, and Trustees of Bowdoin College and ordered that three hundred copies of each of said reports and accompanying Resolves be printed for the use of the Legislature. Bill for the preservation of the Roads was taken up and after some discussion, laid on the table and ordered that three hundred copies of said Bill be printed for the use of the Legislature. A message was received from the House informing the Senate that the House adhere to their vote referring to the next Legislature, Resolve providing for the erection of a Monument over the remains of Enoch Lincoln and concur the Senate in their proposition for a Conference and appoint as conferees on the part of the House Messrs.
