157 Monday February 14, 1831 Met according to adjournment

On motion of Mr. Swett of Prospect Ordered that the Committee on Interior Fisheries be instructed to inquire into the expediency of altering the regulating the Fisheries on Penobscot River and Bay so that weirs erected for taking Fish on said River shall not be liable to be removed til after the length of July annually - sent up for concurrence.

The Committee on Apportionment of Representatives &c made a report in part which was read and 300 copies thereof ordered to be printed and Wednesday next at 11 o'clock was assigned for the further consideration of the same.

On motion of Mr. Deane of Ellsworth ordered that the Senate be requested to take from their files the Petition of Bucksport and Prospect Ferry Company and report of the Committee thereon and send the same to the House.

Agreeably to assignment, the House proceeded to ballot for a Major General of the sixth Division of Militia of this State - the whole number of ballots given in, was one hundred and twelve - necessary to a choice, fifty seven - James Burbank had sixty six votes and declared to be duly elected on the part of the in concurrence with the Senate.

Ordered that the Senate be requested to take from their files and send to this House the Petition of Daniel I. Perley, with the accompanying papers and send the same to this House.
