Report of the joint Special Committee to whom was referred so much of the Governor's Message as relates to abolishing Imprisonment for Debt was read and 300. copies thereof and of the Bill accompanying the same were ordered to be printed for the use of the Legislature.

Petition of the town of Starks for separate Representation was read and referred to the Committee on Apportionment of Representatives &c. sent up for concurrence.

Claim of James Deering for rent of Land on Mount Joy neck - was read and referred to the Committee on Claims - sent up for concurrence.

Mr. Hamlin of Columbia - has leave of absence after Friday next during the remainder of the Session.

Petition of James C. Churchill and others for the benefit of the Westbrook Seminary was read and referred to the Committee on Literary Institutions - sent up for concurrence.

Bill - to modify the terms and conditions of of the act of Separation was read first and second time and tomorrow at 11. o'clock assigned for a third reading.

Report - on Petition of Jonathan Hall - also - on Petition of Inhabitants of Buckfield - granting leave to withdraw came from the Senate accepted for concurrence - and the House concurrence.
