complimented.- The following officers resigned and were discharged during the stay of regiment at Harrison's Landing Surgeon Avril Libby, Capt. O.P. Mitchell Co. B, 1st Lt. fowler of Co. I- Surgeon G. W. Martin took the place of Surgeon Libby, and has since discharged the duties of that office to the current satisfaction of the regiment.- Monday August 11th orders were received for the men to have their knapsacks packed with all but tent and blanket and be in readiness to move in light marching order at 2 P.M.: but no move was made, except that the knapsacks of the men were taken to loading and put on board of barges for transportation.- ( Note these knapsacks, with contents, were lost by the sinking of the worthless barges ( canal boats ) to which they were consigned: but, as in the case of the property abandoned and lost at White Oak Swamp, no provision is made by which company commander can secure to their men any compensation for these losses, while the full amount of clothing ( ? ) they have been obliged to draw in consequence stands charged against them.-) we remained in this state of preparation till Friday morning ( 15th ) when we received orders to move, and left our encampment at A.M. in conjunction with Heintzelman's entire corps : and after five days march arrived at Yorktown Tuesday evening ( 19th )
