Increase S. Johnson of Troy appeared presented his credentials, was qualified and took his seat.

An order came from the Senate for concurrence, instructing the Committee on the Judiciary to inquire into the expediency of so far amending the law for the support of paupers that in all actions brought for their support and maintenance when their settlement is contested, the party prevailing shall in all cases recover full costs and report by bill or otherwise and the House concurred.
