237 Thursday March 10, 1831 Met according to adjournment

Ordered that Messrs. Cole of Paris, Rowe of Belfast and Tibbetts of Lisbon be a committee to inquire into the expediency of abolishing all special pleading in trials at law with leave to report by bill or otherwise.

Bill to incorporate the Proprietors of the Austin Steam Grist mill - also Bill - additional relating to Enginemen were severally read first and second time and tomorrow at ten o'clock assigned for a third reading.

Resolve for obtaining the arguments and maps in relation to the North Eastern Boundary - laid on the table by Mr. Deane of Ellsworth - was read a first and second time and passed to be engrossed - sent up for concurrence.

Report of Committee on Literary institutions to whom was referred the order of January 20th relative to altering the act providing for the education of Youth passed March 16, 1821 - that any alteration of said Act is at present inexpedient - came from the Senate accepted for concurrence and the House concurred.

Bill regulating the salary of the Register of Probate in and for the County of Waldo was taken up and refused a passage - sent up for concurrence.
