7 presenting certificates, being a quorum of the House, are present. They also beg leave to state, that two individuals, viz, Ebenezer Herrick and David Bronson have presented papers purposing to be certificates of their election as members of the House of Representatives from the town of Lewiston and Anson respectively - which Towns are not authorized by the law of this State to send Representatives the present political year - Ordered that David Bronsono of Anson and Ebenezer Herrick of Lewiston are not entitled to seats in this convention.

A Message was sent to the Governor informing him that a quorum of the House were assembled, and request his attendance in the Representatives Hall to qualify the Representatives elect to enter upon the discharge of their official duties

Accordingly the Governor attended by the Council and Secretary of State, preceded by the Sheriff of the County of Kennebec, came in, when the Members elect took and subscribed the oaths required by the constitution to qualify them to discharge their official duties.

A Committee consisting of Messrs Lowell of East Machias, Mowry of Lubec, Cram of Newsharon, House of Wilton, and Fish of Lincoln was appointed to receive sort and count the votes for a Clerk, and on counting the same it appears that the whole number give in was one hundred and seventy seven - necessary to a choice, eighty nine - Asaph R Nichols had one hundred and fourteen, Richard H.
