71 A Message was received from the Senate proposing a convention of the two branches of the Legislature this day at half past eleven o'clock in the Representatives Hall for the purpose of administering the necessary oaths of office, to John O'Brien and John H. Jarvis Councillors elect - The House so far dispensed with their Rules and Orders as to concur therein and the Clerk by message acquainted the Senate therewith. Agreeably to assignment the two branches of the Legislature then met in convention when John O'Brien and John H. Jarvis Councillors elect came in and took and subscribed the oaths prescribed by the constitution to qualify them to enter upon the discharge of their official duties - and the convention separated. Petition of Israel Waterhouse and others for an increase of Capital Stock of the Maine Stage Company was read and referred to the Committee on Manufactures - sent up for concurrence. Report on Petition of Charles Rogers granting leave to withdraw was read and accepted in concurrence with the Senate - sent up. Report on Petition of Inhabitants of the town of Prospect grating leave to withdraw was read and accepted sent up for concurrence. Petition of James Fillebrown Jr. for the protection of Pickerel in the Ponds & waters in the town of Readfield was read and referred to the Committee on Interior Fisheries - sent up for concurrence.
