Report of Committee on Banks & Banking granting leave to withdraw on the Petition of Jonathan Tucker & others for renewal of the charter of the Manufacturer's Bank at Saco was read & recommitted to the same Committee with instruction to report a Bill - sent up for concurrence.

Ordered that the Committee on the Payroll be directed to make up the pay of the members of this House for travel and attendance including Thursday next.

Bill to Encourage literature & the useful arts & sciences came again from the Senate they adhering to their vote passing the Bill to be engrossed and the House nonconcur & adhere to their vote indefinitely postponing the same - sent up for concurrence.

The Committee on Engrossed Bills report as duly engrossed - Resolve in favor of the road leading through the Notch of the White Hills - which was indefinitely postponed - and the question upon so postponing the same was taken by yeas & nays as follows yeas 61, nays 35 sent up for concurrence.
