The Committee on Engrossed Bills reported as duly engrossed Bill to increase the capital stock and extend the duration of the Canal Bank, and the same was passed to be enacted. Sent up

The same Committee reported as duly engrossed, Preamble and Resolves respecting the United States Bank, which was finally passed. Sent up

Petition of James J Leavitts to be admitted to practice law in the Court of Common Pleas, came from the Senate referred to Messrs Smith and Burnham with such as the House may join for concurred and Messrs Council of Waner, James of Ellsworth and Lake of Bucksport were joined

Message from the Governor

  To the Senate and the House of Representatives. I have received from his Excellency the Governor of Massachusetts the accompanying copies of a Report, Preamble and Resolves adopted by the General Court of that Commonwealth expressing its sentiments in reference to the contested line of the North Eastern Boundary of the United States, the opinion and recommendation of his Majesty the King of the Netherlands thereon, and the rights of Massachusetts and Maine which would be affected by adopting that recommendation.
A copy of the Report of Gorham Parks, the Agent appointed to communicate to the Government of Massachusetts the Resolves of this Legislature relating to that subject, is also herewith transmitted
