Memorial of the Inhabitants of the town of Lewiston, praying that the State tax levied on said town by the Legislature of 1831 may be rescinded, was read and referred to the Committee on the Judiciary in concurrence.

In Convention

Agreeably to assignment the two Houses of the Legislature met in convention for the purpose of qualifying Counsellor elect.

Mr. Cogswell of the Senate was charged with a message informing Nathaniel Clark, Edmund Mann, Edward Williams and Asa Clark that the two Houses of the Legislature are now assembled in Convention and are read to administer to them the necessary oaths to qualify them to enter upon their official duties. Whereupon Nathaniel Clark, Edmund Mann, Edward Williams and Asa Clark came in, and before the President of the Convention, and in presence of both branches of the Legislature, took and subscribed the paths required by the Constitution to qualify them to enter upon the discharge of their official duties, and the Convention separated.
