Wednesday February 13.

Order from the House, instructing the Committee on the Judiciary, to enquire into the expediency of revising the law, passed March 10. 1831. providing for the appointment of County Commissioners. Read and passed in concurrence.

The petition of J.W. Willard and others for a division or distribution of the State Lands, or that a moiety thereof in alternate lots, be given to actual settlers.

The petition of James Marson and others praying for a division of the State Lands among the male citizens of the State, were severally read and referred to the joint Standing Committee on State Lands in concurrence.

The petition of John Chandler, Agent of the United States, praying for jurisdiction of a certain tract of land in Cape Elizabeth. Read and referred to the joint Standing Committee on the Judiciary in concurrence.

The petition of A.G. Brown and others for a Bank. Read and referred to the joint Standing Committee on Banks and Banking in concurrence.

The Remonstrance of Benj. Barker and others, against the petition of Jacob Knight and others, for revival of the Shook law of 1828. Read and referred to the joint Standing Committee on Manufactures in concurrence.
