32 Monday January 6, 1834 On motion of Mr. Groton, ordered, that the order passed by the Senate, referring certain parts of the Governor's Message to the several Committees therein expressed, be reconsidered.

On motion of Mr. Groton, ordered that the reconsidered order lie upon the table.

On motion of Mr. Groton, ordered, that so much of the Governors message as relates to primary education, and the establishment of a Seminary for the better qualification of Instructors be referred to Messrs ____________ with such as the House may join. Sent down for concurrence.

Bill to incorporate the Portland Whale Fishing Company, was read a second time and passed to be engrossed in concurrence.

Resolve laid upon the table by Mr. Cobb, authorizing the Governor to appoint Agents to protect the timber lands in the State was read a second time and passed to be engrossed. Sent down for concurrence.

Petition of the town of Bangor for a City Charter came up from the House referred to Messrs. Call of Bangor, Pierce of Portland and Stetson of Hancock with such as the Senate may join, for concurrence. The Senate concurred and Messrs Rogers and Smith are joined.
