Thursday January 9, 1834

Bill providing for the further limitation of certain actions, laid upon the table yesterday by Mr. Cogswell, was read and referred to the Committee on the Judiciary. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

Mr. Kelsey was excused from serving on the Joint Standing Committee on the Incorporation of Towns and Mr. Cobb was appointed on said committee.

Mr. Cogswell from the Committee on Banks and Banking, made a Report on Petition of the President, Director and Committee of the Maine Bank for increase of capital, read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

Bill to increase the Capital Stock of the Maine Bank, was read a second time and passed to be engrossed, Sent down for concurrence.

Petition of Greenlief white and others, praying for an Act of Incorporation for the purpose of erecting a Dam across the Kennebec River, at or near the Island above the Bridge, was read and referred to the Joint Select Committee to which was reported the petition of Thomas Carlton and others. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

Mr. Smith from the Committee on Manufactures made a Report on the petition of Jacob Hunt and others, which was read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

Bill to incorporate the Stroudwater Mill Dam Company was read once and tomorrow at ten o'clock assigned for a second reading.
