The Committee on Engrossed Bills, reported as correctly engrossed. Bill to incorporate the Chosuncook Company, " giving a lien to Ship Carpenters & others on Vessels, and the same were severally passed to be enacted.
On motion of Mr. Pierce, Ordered, that the time to which the Senate shall adjourn hereafter, shall be nine o'clock in the morning except on Monday which shall be ten o'clock.
Mr. Farnsworth from the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridge and Canals, to which was referred the petition of William Pike and others, to be incorporated for the purpose of building a Turnpike from Milltown to Salt Water in the town of Calais, made a report, that by an Act passed A.D. 1821, defining the general powers and duties of Turnpike Corporations, which provides for the appointment of a Committee by the Legislature to view said route; they would recommend the appointment of George M. Chase, Shilometh S. Whipple and Lewis Wilson a committee to view the route as prayed for in said petition, and make their report to the next Legislature, that all persons may then appear & show cause, if any they have, why the prayer of said petition should not be granted; read and, on motive of Mr Farnsworth, ordered to lie on the table.
