Thursday January 7th 1836. The President announced the following Standing Committees of the Senate, to wit:

On Bills in the Second Reading: Messrs Green, Purinton, Allen, McIntire, Latham, Mantor. Messrs Strickland, Severance, Merrow, Spear, Talbot, Kelsey.

On Engrossed Bills Messrs. Clarke, Fish, Miller, Jarvis, Staples, Frye. Messrs Jewett, Benson, Robinson, Swift, Weeks.

On motion of Mr Benson The Senate reconsider the vote whereby they passed the order of yesterday " that instead of the Joint Standing Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals, there be one on Rail Roads and Canals and one on Turnpikes, Bridges, Booms and Dams."

Order from the House of Representatives appointing Messrs Holmes of Alfred, Tobin of Hartland, Perkins of Kennebunkport, Potter of Augusta and Tuttle of Canaan a Committee, with such as the Senate may join, to report such alterations in the Joint Rules and
