Resolve in favor of John Neptune, Jo Sockbasin and Peol Molley, and the same were severally finally passed.

A message was received from the House of Representatives, they had, on on their part elected Eliphalet D. Bray, Major General for the eighth Division of the Militia of this State, and the concurrence of the Senate requested.

Agreeably to assignment the Senate proceeded to the choice of a Major General for the eighth Division of the Militia of this State, to fill the vacancy occasioned by the resignation of Major General Samuel P. Strickland; and Messrs. Mantor, Tobin and Barnard were appointed a Committee to receive, sort and count the votes; who, having attended the duties assigned them, reported that the whole number of votes given in, is 19. Necessary to a choice - 10. Eliphalet D. Bray has 16. Franklin Smith " 3. Eliphalet D. Bray was declared duly elected on the part of the Senate, Major General for the eighth Division to fill the vacancy occasioned by the resignation of Major General Samuel P. Strickland, in concurrence of which the House were informed by message.

Mr. Greene of York, from the Committee on the Militia, reported legislation inexpedient on petition of Ebenezer F. Bacon and others, and reference to next Legislature on "Resolve providing for the purchase of a site for the Gunhouse in Paris" - read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.
