Charleston surrenders 125

Feb 19th 1865 We had an inspect at 10 oclock A.M. Had a dress parade at night.

20th A little canonading on the right of the line but does not amount to much.

21st Theodore Garrish returned from the hospital. We had a brigade dress parade. We have good news from Sherman -Charleston surrenderd.

22d We had a Co drill. Dress parade at night. Orders to be in readyness to move at a moments notice. We have a meeting about 50 rods from here and some of the boys go most every night.

28th Considerable canonading in front of Petersburg threw the day. We signed pay rolls.

24th We were paid four months pay.

25th We had orders to be ready for review at 9 oclock A.M. It rained some all day and we did not have a review.

26th Frederick wrote to me that he expected his discharge

27 We got ready to be mustered for pay

28 We were mustered for pay.
