against intruding on the Indian privileges, which has been sent down to Maine to be used for their benefit. A similar one will probably be nec- essary from the Land Agent of Maine. I have prepared a Copy of this paper by Mr Coffin's permission, & now enclose it to you. It will I believe furnish you with a complete tho' con cise history of the business. If you should desire any further information, Mr Coffin will undoubtedly furnish it cheerfully.
