Division Orders Eighth Division - Augusta, Jan'y 25 1816

The Captains & Subalterns of the 1st Regiment & Brigade of the Division, will assemble at Palmer's tavern in Hallowell, on Monday the 12 day of February next at 2 o'clock P.M. to elect a Lieut. Colonel Commandant in the room of Lieut. Colo. Com'dr John Howe, & a Major in the room of Major Reuel Howard & also to fill such other vacancy of Field Officer as may exist on the day of election. Major Benjamin Brown will please to preside at the meeting and make return of the elections, which may then & there be made.

The Captains + Subalterns of the 1. Regiment, 2 Brigade, of the Divisions will assemble at William's tavern in Waterville on Monday the same 12 day of February next, at 2 o'clock P. M. to elect a Lieut. Colo. Commandant in the room of Lt. Colo. Comdt Elnathan Sherwin, & also to fill any other vacancy of Field Officer which may exist on the day of election. Lieut. Colo. Sam Howard will please to preside & make return of the officers who may be elected at this meeting.

The respective Adjutants will notify the elected in each of their respective regiments of the time place & purposes of the meeting, ten days
