^ not now the authority, for the transfer which Gordon desires. His term of service having nearly expired it will be less cost to the Govt to transport him than to discharge him at this City and pay his travelling and subsistence allowances from this City to his home- this however is of small importance compared to the pleasure to be afforded a Volunteer for his Country.
