April, Wednesday 22. 1863. We went out a foraging again this morning and got some wheat and corn for our horses. got back at 10 oclock the Division had commenced to move: we marched to Warreton. and from there Warrenton Junction. abought 15 miles. got there at 4 oclock. the 1st Maine then went out on Picket Guard.

Thursday, 23. It rains to day very hard and we are n Picket. it rained most all night and to day the rain pours down in torrents. I received 3 letters this morning. 2 of them was from home and 1 from Sidney. Our Company went on Post. to day at 12 oclock. I do not know how long we are to stand.

Friday, 24. I am on Picket again to day. it rained in the forenoon. but the storm cleared away abought 1 oclock and now the weather looks good. We are entirly out rations today so we killed some pigs and [?].

April, Saturday, 25. 1863. We was relieved from Post this morning at 11 oclock and came in where the rest of the reserve is Camped. the weather is fine and good to day and a nice cool breeze is blowing. I wrote a couple of letters this morning. one of them to home and one to Sidney.

Sunday, 26. Today is Sunday, and I would like to be to home this morning. the weather is good and pleasant. We had an Inspection this morning at 10 oclock then I wrote two letters one to a friend in Mass, and one to a friend in Windsor. There is some talk that we are to march again to morrow morning.

Monday, 27. We did not march to day as I was expecting we should. Stayed in Camp all day, wrote a letter in the fornoon we drew three days rations this afternoon. The weather continues to be good. but dont know how long it will last.
