[page 28] Testimony of Miss Ellen R. Sawyer By Dr. Butler: Q. You are an attendant at the hospital are you? A. Yes sir. Q. How long have you been there? A. I went into the halls in Sept., about the 11th I think Q. Last Sept? A. Yes sir. I came to the hospital as assistant matron in June, and made the change in Sept. Q. But you have been there since June? A. Yes, sir, have been in the hospital since June. Q. What do you know about the scarcity of water, when that began? A. It began to be scarce in the kitchen in Aug. Q. And when was it entirely gone? A. About the first of Sept. the first week I think in Sept. Q. How long was it gone? A. There was none there until I went into the halls, to speak of. There was a little running, and for a few days we had a little in one of the faucets. Q. There was none from the first of Sept until when? A. I went into the halls the first of Sept, and there was none in the halls them, and ^ there was not any to speak of until Oct. Q. What part of Oct.? A. I should say the last part of Oct.
