  We was in Camp all day did not do enything.

July 25

  To day we drilled at the Saber exersise in the forenoon and in the afternoon. I wrote 2 letters this evening. one to a friend in Sandwich Mass. and one to a friend in Solon Maine.

July 26

  I was on Patrol guard to day. helping to take Soldiers that have strayed out of camp and out of the Lines without a pass.

  We had an Inspection of Arms this morning at 10 oclock. I was in Camp the rest of the day. wrote a letter home to day and wrote one to Brookline Mass[insertion] and one to Norridwock Maine.

July 28

  In camp to day. wrote a letter in the afternoon to a friend in Skowhegan Maine. we had a dress parade to night.

July 29

  In camp to day. received a letter from home. was very glad to hear from the folks. had a dress parade to night

July 30

  In camp to day. had a general Inspection of arms to day. I received a letter from Skowhegan Maine. I was on guard to night.
