Through the Bangor Whig I see that you are raising another Reg. of volunteers for the war and having had some experience in the 2nd Maine I feel as though I could be of some servise to my native state I was first Lieut. of C. K 2d Maine raised in Old Town by Capt F.C. Foss and resigned the 15th of Jan 62 if you remmeber I was introduced to you by G.P. Sewall of Oldtown as to my abilaty I will refer you to Capt. Farnham
