Mr. Hill- There seems to be some idea that this meeting should be adjourned to some future time. It seems that two of the trustees are not present; and I question whether it would be right to go on in their absence.

Dr. Butler- There having been some trouble in procuring witnesses, some having come from a distance and at expense, understanding that there would be a meeting to-day, and anticipating that some of the members might be absent, arrangements were made for a Stenographer to report the proceedings and write them out that they might be put into their hands and be fully examined by them. As far as I am concerned it is a matter of great indifference whether it be now or at any time that may please the Committee; but considering the fact that some of the witnesses are here we would be glad to go on Mr. Morrill- We suggest whether it would be fair and proper to go on in the absence of the trustees. If no objection is made perhaps the committee will proceed to a certain extent, taking some of the testimony.

Dr. H.M. Harlow- If this proceeding is to go on allow me to suggest that the witnesses be placed under oath, and that an official stenographer
