I beg leave to trespass upon your valuable time by respectfully calling your attention to my case, which is as follows. On the 16th day of July ult. I transmitted a communication to General Hodsdon (enclosed please correct copy with endorsements thereon) asking his influence in procuring for me a Lieutenants Commission in one of the regiments forming in Maine, from which I have received no reply whatever, and fearing that it might have been miscarried, or in case he received it, that he might have considered the application addressed (over)
