Unity Dec. 11th 1862

To his Excellency Gov. Washburn

Dear Sir,

Your favor was received for which thanks -- in reply I would say that althought what I wished for was a Sargents place, I shall accept your kind offer of the assistants place if I can have a week or such a matter to arrange my affairs before starting.

Most respectfully Yours J.T. Main
