commenced to come to the boom 29 April Certificate ^ &c. 8 page. Letter [?] Mr MacIntire in relation to time of [arriving?] at the boom 9 page date April 29 Letter to Mr MacIntire in relation to timber in boom page 14 date May 4th May 9 - letter to Mr MacIntire in relation to turning out timber page 17 May 20 Timber out of the boom page 21 Finished turning out the timber on the 25 of May. page 22

State of the water in the river page 22 + 23 Mr Carys timber came down first during my abscence from the Aroostook when I arrived part had passed the boom part was rafted above and all that remained in the boom was passed as soon as possible so far as I know. Mr Cary was there himself and I do not recollect that he made any complaint at the time or found any fault whatever I do recollect that in one instance he was at the boom and reproved the men for passing through too fast that is faster than it could be taken care of by the men below. The water was falling rapidly and if it had not been an unusual year Mr Carys timber would not have left the Small Stream from which it was driven

In comparing Websters Certificate on the 8th page with S Cooks letter the marks will be found not to agree

In relation to the lot of timber S x HB & S x H [non-letter symbol] Smith & Harvey see Cooks letter the same remarks will apply as to Websters with the exception of a small lot marked [?]H belonging to Mr Houlton of Houlton but in the matter of the Smith and Harvey and Mr Beck and Stickney there were more suspicious circumstances than with that of Websters
