This is a printed petition form in name-and-address column format. On this page, both columns have been used for unique lists of names; no street addresses are included.

In the lower half of the second column of names, appears the name "Mrs. Edward Everett Hale". This person may perhaps be Rose Postlethwaite Perkins Hale (1866-1963), the wife of Edward Everett Hale Jr. (1863-1932), a professor at Union College and the son of Edward Everett Hale Sr. (1822-1909), a prominent Unitarian and abolitionist related to the Hale, Everett, and Beecher families of Boston, all prominent in 19th century reform movements. No connection of Mrs. Edward Everett Hale to Dexter, Maine is immediately evident from a brief web search.
