Message from the Governor.
[Governors Message] To the Senate and House of Representatives-- The act which was passed by the Congress of the United States on the 12th day of May last, establishing an uniform mode of discipline and field exercise for the Militia of the United States providing that the system of discipline and field exercise which is and shall be ordered to be observed by the regular army of the United States in the difference corps of Infantry, Artillery and Riflemen, shall also be observed by the militia, in the exercise and dicipline of the said corps respectively, throughout the ["State" struck out] United States. [Books &c to be furnished Militia] The Secretary of War has directed the Rules and Regulations for the field exercise and manoeuvres of Infantry compiled and adapted to the organization of the United States Infantry, by a Board of War, of which Major General Scott was President to be observed as a system of Infantry discipline for the Army of the United States.
