  From the world's sourthernmost city (of 120,000 inhabitants) it seems clear that Maine's Indians lost their status as nations when they accepted Federal closeout funds; that the Dickey Lincoln project is in the lost [?] realm of the Eastport tidal power development; that four Maine reps in Washington hardly need twenty offices in Maine: that Searsport is probably bartering itself negatively for progress; that the creative spirit still prevails in Maine [crossed out h] as no where else.
  The Maine Writers & Publishers Alliance has fostered the latter to a very high degree and deserves all praise, support.
  Kindred groups in films, dance & crafts & visual art equally contribute.
  Would that all this prevails through immediate years.
